About Isaac Jones

Hello! I am Isaac K. Jones, a third-year Biology major at Prairie View A&M University. I grew up in Belton, Texas, where I graduated from Belton High School before continuing my academic journey at PVAMU.In addition to being a dedicated student, I serve as a student-researcher studying the histopathology of keratitis. I also hold a leadership role as the Vice Co-Chair of the Prairie View A&M University Honors Program, where I help foster academic excellence and community engagement among Honors students.Beyond the classroom, I am an active member of several campus organizations, including Brothers Leading and Cultivating Knowledge (B.L.A.C.K.), Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) Biological Honor Society, and the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (M.A.P.S.). Through these organizations, I aim to promote professional development among underrepresented students, address health disparities, and give back to my community.After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan to attend medical school and pursue a Medical Scientist Training Program (M.D./Ph.D.). My goal is to explore the field of neuroscience, researching neurodevelopmental disorders to better understand their causes, treatments, and prevention. Ultimately, I hope to apply my knowledge to improve healthcare access and quality in underserved communities while inspiring others to pursue medicine.

   Analyze the effects of Streptococcus pneumoniae–induced keratitis in mouse models using Olympus CX23 and Nikon Ti2 Eclipse microscopes. Identified strain-specific differences in disease establishment in BALB/c, C57BL/6, and A/J mice.
