The Kearl Initial Development Project started 2009, is a Bitumen Production facility for Imperial Oil and ExxonMobil which will consist of an open-pit mining operation, onsite bitumen extraction and dilution, within the Athabasca Oil Sands region. The project will have installed over 60 km of pipeline upon completion. The Kearl Expansion Project started in the first quarter of 2012. The Kearl Initial Development and the Kearl Expansion Project has a combined projected manpower of over 7,500.
