The Somaiya Vidyavihar Complex was founded in 1959 by the late Shri K J Somaiya (19••••99). For this purpose he bought a large area of land at Ghatkopar, then considered to be distant, meagrely populated. Somaiya Vidyavihar has a rich experience of over six decades in building & managing educational institutes and imparting education to students from all over the world. Nestled in a vast 65-acre green campus located in the heart of Mumbai city, the group is now a multi-disciplinary education institution catering to 39,000+ students in diverse fields of education. With the establishment of Somaiya Vidyavihar University in 2019, students can now explore multi-disciplinary learning opportunities through the 'major-minor' combinations available.
