About Khalid

I am a student at the Kelley School of Business from Manhattan, New York. I am passionate about sports, business, my friends, and my family. When I reached my freshman year of high school, I was met with new challenges that allowed me to grow in new ways as a person and as a worker. I was the youngest player on my High School Varsity Basketball team, challenging my abilities as a player as well as my social abilities as a young man. I learned to let my guard down around students who were older than me. I learned positive work habits from some of these players, including one who specifically took me under his wing as our team captain. I found confidence that I could perform at the same level as the older, more experienced players. These skills helped translate to my job as a college student, which is a team manager for the Men’s Basketball Team. Using the knowledge from being a four year varsity player, I have found new ways to make myself useful with the Indiana Basketball Program on the court, helping in various workouts and practices. As a manager, I have become comfortable with flexibility as a worker, not knowing what each new day will present. While I love organization, I understand that sometimes there are times in our lives where things around us might be unorganized, and it can be important to learn to embrace those moments and learn how to deal with them.

   This role contains constant work on a daily basis, whether it is coding game film, rebounding for players, or helping out during daily practices. Indiana Basketball has a prominent history with great traditions, and we work as hard as we can to maintain that greatness everyday- Host recruits when they come visit Indiana, talking to them about their high school experiences and explaining to them about life at IU athletically, academically, and socially- Rebound and pass for players as well as give them tips if necessary - Host opposing teams when they utilize our stadium for practices prior to the game- Work alongside fellow managers, coaches, and players, developing a wide network with a variety of different people with such unique experiences
