Wound Care Nurse Practitioner, Certified Wound SpecialistFebruary 2020 – current role• Conduct comprehensive wound assessment to develop and implement treatment plans for complex wounds (diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, burns) across inpatient and outpatient settings.• Supervises Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment (HBO T)• Performs excisional debridement and other wound care procedures.• Select and apply optimal wound dressings and therapies, continuously monitoring healing progression and adjusting care plans as necessary.• Manage complications, including wound and soft tissue infections, using evidence-based interventions.• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and other studies to inform treatment strategies.• Analyze test and lab results to guide clinical decision-making and prescribe appropriate medications.• Provide targeted education to patients and caregivers on wound care practices and lifestyle modifications to promote healing.• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure adherence to Healogics clinical protocols.• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
