ABOUT IRMGARD LOCHNER
Irmgard Lochner Aldinger is a structural engineer with long-term practical experience as well as a focus on research and teaching. Studying engineering at the University of Stuttgart (Germany), and including a one-year study abroad at Bath University (UK), her University education was focussing on the principles of lightweight structures, as they are being taught and researched at these Universities. After graduating in Stuttgart, following jobs in engineering practice at IPP Prof. Polóny & Partner and ARUP in Berlin, Irmgard joined the engineering company co-founded by her father, the Stuttgart-based office Peter und Lochner. At the same time, she was a teaching and research assistant at the ILEK with Prof. Werner Sobek, where she produced her doctorate dissertation on \"Design Strategies\". Since 2007, she is Professor for structural design at the school of architecture at Biberach University of Applied Sciences.
