About Iris Witt

Hi, my name is Iris Witt, and I am a full-time student at the University of New Mexico. I am currently studying Biology on the pre-med track, and pursuing minors in both Chemistry and Nutrition. I have been awarded the distinction of making the Dean’s List and becoming a member of the UNM Mortar Board.I am incredibly passionate about medicine, and more specifically, working with underserved New Mexican communities. I hope to one day attend the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and practice as a physician here in New Mexico, and use my strengths in servant leadership and empathetic care to better my career. In the meantime, I work as a volunteer at the Storehouse New Mexico, helping low income families receive food for the month. Additionally, I work as a Supplemental Instruction Leader at UNM for an Cell Biology class, where I attend teaching trainings and hold 3 teaching sessions a week where I help students use active recall and retrieval techniques to master the material. I also work as a Behavioral Technician at Proud Moments ABA, where I use Applied Behavioral Analysis to work 1:1 with students on the autism spectrum. I am also currently working on becoming registered with the state.Outside of all of the above, I enjoy spending time outdoors, skiing, hiking, weightlifting, and attending concerts.Feel free to connect or reach out to me at i••••••••@gmail.com.
