About Shaadi Iris Ghorbani
Current Senior undergraduate student in the Columbia University and Trinity College Dublin Dual-BA Program, studying Middle Eastern & European Languages and Cultures (MEELC) and Political Science.I have a vested interest in law and political science and work as a Junior Editor at the Columbia University Political Review, focusing on investigative and Op-Ed pieces centering the Middle East and Central Asia. With this I have a passion in Iranian Studies, showcasing Iranian voices as Deputy Editor of Trinity\'s Middle Eastern and North African Review and as a recipient of the Department of State Critical Languages Scholarship in Tajikistan. I am a nine-time scholarship recipient for my work in medical and social justice sectors, and have been featured in the Irish Times, Dublin Independent, and TCO London for my work. In addition to my academics, my advocacy expands to my work as a member of the Trinity Women in Law Subcommittee in continuing my passion to mobilize communities for justice. I hope to use this passion and utilize my degree concentrations on Spanish, Persian, and Arabic language to stand for underrepresented voices back home, both in reference to Washington DC and the Middle Eastern Region.
