About Irie Stein
I am a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Biology, Society, and Environment and a minor in Genetics. Currently, I am pursuing further education and opportunities in the field of Geographic Information Science (GIS). My interests include geovisualization (2D & 3D), cartography, remote sensing, geospatial analysis, as well as pursuing a graduate minor in Earth Sciences focusing on sedimentology and glacial ecology. I am also interested in topics like climate change research and resilience, sustainability, geography, and public health. My goal is to use GIS to monitor environmental changes in the world’s polar and forest regions, analyze public health trends, create effective means of spatial communication, and work toward long-lasting sustainable solutions.In my free time, I like to spend time with family & friends, listen to music, and read. I also like to be outside going on walks, skiing, hiking, and of course, finding a cool agate!
