About Iren N. Taran

I am passionate to be a part of sustainable development initiatives and to collaborate with talented individuals. Throughout my career I worked on a variety of projects ranging from single-family residential, hospitality, and sports/recreation facilities to higher education, embassy compounds and million square-feet office and condominium developments. I had worked on projects throughout the U.S. and internationally. I try to place a great deal of emphasis on close collaboration between professionals in different disciplines. International work/study/travel experience: UK, Germany, Russia, China, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, France, Scotland, Kirghizstan, Nicaragua, Guatemala, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Macau, West Indies, Bahamas, and Canada. In addition, I worked on projects in: Pakistan, Kuwait, Angola, Botswana, Nigeria, and Mozambique (unfortunately without personally visiting the country).When I am not juggling education, research, and professional practice, I am hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

   Leading and managing multiple small to medium-scale projects, including executing projects from Predesign through Project Closeout, consultant coordination, client, agency, and technical reviews. Working directly with the Principal In Charge on all aspects of the project, including business development, contact negotiation, and client relations. Responsible for management of the project’s budget, schedule, and work plan. Projects include, but not limited to: Spokane Falls Community College Fine & Applied Arts Replacement, Spokane, WA | 65K SF $33M*Wenatchee Valley College Omak Health Science, Omak, WA | 13K SF $8.5M * in partnership with HGA, Minneapolis, MNRest of the design team: Coffman Engineers (structural, mechanical and electrical), Parametrix (civil), Land Expressions (landscape architect), Thomas Consulting (cost estimating), Design Balance (LEED coordination), Stantec (acoustical) and Strata (geotechnical)
