ABOUT IRENE FAVREAU
Making a difference in society has always been a passion of mine. Isn\'t it true that every voice can make a difference somehow? I find that I am a more successful leader when I identify the stars in my organization and foster relationships through mentoring. I often say that we don\'t know what we don\'t know, and mentoring helps everyone to know what the questions are. Training and mentoring are even more important today as societal issues invade the workplace. I believe that it fosters greater success when strides are made to readjust leadership tendencies to improve corporate culture in this diverse society. Improving culture requires paying attention to the whole and recognizing what you\'re looking at, then admitting when you could be doing better and communicating change. I tend to be analytical, always working toward finding solutions to problems, but I am also empathetic and understanding. I work to build a sense of community with a focus on the future. My experience in training soft skills (Diversity, Inclusion, EQ, Communication) enhances my hard skill set. Further, working with a population in my previous position who have been diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities proves to me that more education is needed for greater societal acceptance of those who are deemed to be outside the norm. This is a very diverse world we live in. Acceptance and inclusion can be within reach, but only if we all are willing to educate and be educated. We don\'t know what we don\'t know. it\'s time for us to learn.
