ABOUT IRENE TALENTO
A transformative leader, throughout her career Irene has spearheaded initiatives that have enabled small businesses and global enterprises to address innovations, deliver new business benefits, and drive hundreds of thousands Pounds in savings and productivity gains. Original from Italy, Irene has a first-class honours degree of Master of Engineering (MEng) with a double major in Construction Engineering and Architecture. During her years at university, she project managed core research at the cutting edge of digital construction and materials science within the Department of Civil, Environmental, Aerospace, and Materials Engineering (DICAM) of the Polytechnic School, University of Palermo in Italy. Her experimental work resulted in academic lectures, papers published in international journals, and panel presentations conducted at global conferences.Irene started her career in the public sector by advising government leaders and political decision-makers across EU member states in sustainability and environmental policies for regional governance within major EU-funded projects promoted by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency.Due to her research expertise in building physics and materials science, she performed as Project Leader in R&D and New Product Development at the Saint-Gobain Group, one of the largest market players worldwide in the design, development, and manufacturing of innovative products for transport, life science, and built environment. Irene served in a corporate environment acting as intrapreneur until September 2020 when still during the Covid-19 pandemic she cofounded a startup in the field of sustainability consultancy.In 2022, she was awarded an International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) double majoring in Finance and Lifestyle at the top-ranked EM LYON Business School in Lyon, France.
