WORK HISTORY
Shift Supervisor @Burning Man Project
Sacramento, CA, US
After stepping out of my role in 2018, I have worked on contract with the Burning Man Project as a supervising shift mentor. This role is much more operations-focused than running the entire Gate, Perimeter & Exodus Traffic Operations (GP & E) organization in Black Rock City, NV (site of the annual Burning Man event.) My passion for this work has always been on the participant-facing aspects of the role. Transitioning my role to my assistant has moved my focus to codifying the informal process we had in place to promote volunteers into shift supervisors and helping mentor them into leaders within the greater GP & E family. Ensuring that participants have a safe trip into and out of Burning Man every year takes a lot more than you might think.

ABOUT IRA WING
I\'m an experienced team leader whose reach spans analytical and IT domains; I can build your contact center and run the workforce management (WFM) department. I bring a lot to the table and I fit well in the spaces between defined roles. I thrive in a crisis, but my first thought afterward is \'how do we avoid this/mitigate this/do this better next time?\'If you are struggling to fill a role where someone needs a mix of analytical, leadership, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead through change. let\'s talk. I am willing to relocate just about anywhere for the right match so don\'t let distance deter you from reaching out (and if I\'ve applied for a role on your team in another state, don\'t worry!)
