At the Democracy + Tech Initiative, my first workstream focuses on the impact of technology on human rights & democracy, generating actionable recommendations and promoting rights-respecting norms for global technology governance. My second workstream aims to empower the Global Majority—specifically, Africa and Latin America—to become strong, rights-respecting voices in global tech discussions, by aligning local priorities with human rights norms. Finally, my third workstream examines political dynamics in information ecosystems by researching how authoritarian actors manipulate information spaces and undermine democratic institutions, providing policymakers with evidence-based guidance to counter hostile information operations, surveillance, and censorship.
