I am passionate about learning new things and tackling big problems. This has led me to immerse myself in a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, including sustainable energy, telecommunications, medical physics, and prevention of nuclear weapons proliferation. I have enjoyed being able to be a bridge between research, industry and the public.I have over 8 years of experience in research and development in the Sargent Group at the University of Toronto, one of the top nanotechnology labs in the world. I am experienced in optoelectronic device design and characterization. I am author on over a dozen peer-reviewed publications, including first author of a paper in Nature Nanotechnology which is among the top 5 most cited papers from the Sargent Group. I led a project that resulted in a world record solar cell efficiency as recognized by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Currently, I am leading a team of over 20 scientists in developing technology for CO2 utilization. This technology is the basis of CERT, an XPRIZE team that is one of the finalists in the $20M Carbon XPRIZE competition.
