For the past 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to design, build and occasionally destroy networks on 6 of the 7 continents in the world and I\'m patiently waiting for a contract to network Antarctica. One of the most rewarding benefits of working on a global scale is getting to see how the work we as networkers do influences and connects different cultures on a daily basis. Most of my time is spent as a consulting network architect with specific expertise designing hybrid WISP/Wireline service provider networks that rely on BGP/OSPF/MPLS and a mix of fiber and RF transport. Although I spent a number of years as a Cisco focused engineer, I thoroughly enjoy multi-vendor integration (typically with MikroTik routers, switches and RF equipment) and especially with white-box network equipment. I\'ve also done an extensive amount of Data Center work including large Enterprise/Data Center merging and moving Data Centers between countries.
