ABOUT IOANNA DELIGKIOZI

Dr. Ioanna Deligkiozi is a Chemical Engineer that graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), in 2007. In 2009 she gained her M.Sc. degree in the field of Science and Technology of Materials. During her postgraduate degree she has been involved in the field of advanced composite materials. Specifically she worked in the production of hard Ni Composite Coatings, using nanosized TiO2-ZrO2 powders, with emphasis in pulls electrolysis. In 2012 she defended her Ph.D. thesis «Synthesis and characterization of new [2]rotaxanes of α-cyclodextrine with diazobenzene containing molecular dumbbells acting as Molecular Switches» in the field of supramolecular chemistry. These advanced supramolecules are a new class of nanomaterials, which have been intensely investigated the last years because of their ability to act as molecular switches or molecular shuttles by providing controllable and reversible transformations.Since 2012 she has worked as a senior researcher at the “Centre for Research and Technology Hellas” (CE.R.T.H./ I.RE.TE.TH), as an research associate at the “Center for Technology Research and Innovation” (CETRI). Currently she is managing AXIA Innovation that provides business consultancy and sustainability centered services.During her career she has been involved in various European research projects as senior researcher and leading the technical and exploitation management. She has been an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) since 2010, holding positions such as the Student Activities, Secretary and President of the Hellenic Chapter BOD, and Young Engineers of ASHRAE (YEA) at a Regional level.Professionally her interests and goals lie in the wide field of nanomaterials, nanoscience and nanotechnology, which are frequently involved in a diverse variety of application, with focus the last Years on their exploitation and commersialization. She attempts to identify problems that are of significant importance, investigate those that are in related areas of her expertise and carry out research that addresses these advances in useful and practical ways.
