As a geotechnical engineer, I get excited about providing geotechnical solutions for civil engineering projects. Engineers are blessed to serve society by solving technical problems. Currently, my professional interests include soil mechanics, foundation engineering, earthquake engineering, civil infrastructure, and project management.I have a strong academic background with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering (GeoSystems Engineering) from the University of California, Berkeley. I completed courses in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, mine waste management, hydrogeology, geomorphology, geotechnical earthquake engineering, and numerical modeling.My professional experience includes proposal preparation, reporting, data processing, slope stability analysis, liquefaction assessments, seismic deformation modelling, geotechnical lab testing, construction monitoring, geotechnical site investigation, compaction testing, subgrade reviews, and concrete field testing. I am skilled in communicating with contractors, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders. I have been involved on projects that vary in scale from single-family homes to mega-projects over 100 million dollars. My experience spans various market sectors including commercial/residential developments, industrial facilities, transportation, flood protection, and municipal infrastructure. Being involved in industry organizations is fundamental to my career. I have actively volunteered for the Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS), the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia (ACEC-BC), the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Recognizing my volunteering efforts, ASCE honored me as one of the 2025 New Faces of Civil Engineering.I am a registered/licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia (Canada) and State of Washington (United States). My career has benefitted tremendously from various mentors throughout the years. As such, I am always open to new mentorship opportunities, both as a mentee and as a mentor.    I am responsible for geotechnical project management and design support in the development, transportation, and dam markets. My projects are located primarily in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Louisiana. Typical tasks include mentoring staff engineers and technicians, proposal preparation, site exploration planning, client communication, foundation design, seismic design, slope stability analysis, reviewing construction field review documentation, and geotechnical reporting. In addition to my regular tasks, I am also involved in recruitment, interviewing, and business development for GeoEngineers.
