About Stephanie Hanneken
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Inspire Change Counseling, a private practice in Chesterfield, Missouri as well as Scottsdale, Arizona. I opened my practice in 2014 and have 6 therapists in the Chesterfield location who work with me and 2 in Scottsdale. We counsel individuals, couples, and adolescents and specialize in addictions, trauma and anxiety spectrum disorders such as OCD, PTSD and panic. At ICC we focus on the person as a whole and incorporate nutrition, exercise, and connections with chiropractors and functional medicine doctors to encourage the mind and body connection. Previously I worked at Agape Christian Counseling and Midwest Institute for Addiction counseling individuals and couples with a range of issues such as trauma and addictions. I graduated in May of 2012 from Lindenwood University. There I received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and graduated with a 4.0. During my last year I was elected President of Chi Sigma Iota-Lambda Chi International Counseling Honor Society. I did my first practicum at Bridgeway Behavioral Health. There I worked with women in the inpatient setting treating substance abuse and co-occurring disorders: depression, anxiety, addictions, and personality disorders. My second practicum was at the University of Missouri St. Louis at Community Psychological Services. Through CPS I co-led psycho-educational groups and counseled individuals at Confluence Academy North City and South City. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Organizational Communications. I worked five internships throughout college and after in Administrative Assistance, Public Relations, Events and Broadcast Journalism. Before attending Mizzou I went to Murray State University in Kentucky on a music scholarship, a volleyball scholarship and academic scholarships and stayed there for 2.5 years. I was a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Organizational Communications.
