ABOUT LISA INNOVATIVEEDU NIELSEN
Hello. I\'m Lisa Nielsen. Thanks for stopping by to learn a thing or two about me.I have served as a public school educator and administrator since 1997. I am passionate about helping educators provide real, relevant, and inclusive learning opportunities that prepare students for success. Some of my beliefs include-Using technology is not cheating. Technology provides inclusive experiences for all learners. No one should need a label to use that which best assists their learning-We all have special needs and learning differences-Let students learn the way they learn best-What is easiest (i.e, banning and blocking) is usually not what is best.I love writing and share my ideas on The Innovative Educator blog, which is one of the 20 most popular education blogs. You can check it out at InnovativeEducator.com. My writing is also featured in places such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, T.H.E. Journal, Tech & Learning, and Huffington Post. I\'ve also written a few books like \"Teaching Generation Text,\"\"The Uncomfortable History of Schooling in America,\" “Supporting Student Personal Learning Networks,” “Fix The School, Not The Child,” and more. Check em out here http://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.com/p/my-book.htmlI love talking to people and have talked to audiences across the globe. I am frequently covered by local and national media for views on “Passion (not data) Driven Learning,” “Bring Your Own Device,” \"Thinking Outside the Ban\" to harness the power of technology for learning, using mobile devices for learning, using the power of social media to provide a voice to educators and students, and more.
