ABOUT INNOCENT EHIKHIOYA
Material Science is a broad field, my research focus embodies Plasmonics, Bionanoscience, MAX Phase and MXene design, systhesis and microstructural characterization. My PhD thesis entails investigating the radiation tolerance of novel MAX phase materials. In line with the need to have more efficient nuclear reactors operating at temperatures within and around 600 degrees celsius, MAX phases have been propose as a coating material for generation IV nuclear fuel cladding. The objective is to have a cladding material that provides robustness to the reactor components and cladding in the case of beyound design basis operation and or loss of coolant accident.I am positive soul and sure facilitator who would always choose progress with its attendant uncertainties than stagnation or status quo. I have always viewed life as a glass half-filled with so many opportunities coming my way to make a positive difference, challenges and difficulties abound, but they only served to bring out optimal results from me.I am leading a life of research in Mechanics/Material design, Tribology, nanoscience, Experimental Physics, in the process inquiring, coordinating and associating natural laws for the implementing novel solutions that serves humanity. I am not above charity work, I shall give back to humanity in every way possible.
