About Innis McLiney

I graduated from Washington and Lee University in Spring 2025 with a B.S. in Engineering, with a focus in Geology. My background combines hands-on fabrication experience with real-world engineering design, which has shaped how I approach problem-solving. I developed practical manufacturing skills as a Fabrication and Design Assistant at Rails End Wood and Metal Crafters, where I worked with experienced craftsmen and gained experience in welding, machining, and interpreting technical drawings. During college, I completed internships in both industrial and design-focused environments, giving me exposure to how engineering concepts translate into production. Currently, I work as a Design Engineer at Rimpull Corporation, where I work with a team to design components for off-road haul trucks and trailers. My work involves 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks), creating manufacturing drawings, and working with vendors to bring designs into production. Through this experience, I’ve developed a strong interest in mechanical design and manufacturing across industries, including heavy equipment, automotive systems, and large-scale industrial applications. My geology background and exposure to mining equipment have also sparked an interest in the broader mining and energy sectors, particularly where engineering and resource development intersect. I enjoy working on vehicles in my free time and being outdoors, and I’m always looking for opportunities to expand my technical skill set and take on new engineering challenges.
