About Ingrid O.
Ingrid Ostby is an editor and writer in New York. She’s a longtime contributing writer for Reductress, whose 2023 book \'How to Stay Productive When the World Is Ending\' features her work. Her writing has been featured in The New Yorker, Mic, Netflix (Tudum), McSweeney’s and more. A copy editor for many years, Ingrid taught two courses at NYU as an adjunct instructor: Fundamentals of Grammar & Copyediting, and Fact-Checking for Accuracy. She\'s proofread bestselling YA fiction by Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling and Raina Telgemeier; copyedited the work of international bestseller Marc Levy; and much more. She\'s also written a number of Mad Libs for Penguin Random House.As Mic’s video team copy chief, she contributed copyediting to the National Magazine Award-winning collaboration with Time magazine, Life After Opioid Addiction, and won a Webby Award for the viral video, Lighting Black Faces in HBO\'s \"Insecure.”Having previously served as managing editor at ViacomCBS Streaming (Paramount Global), contributing editorial oversight to their extensive catalog of media brand sites and apps, Ingrid now leads an editorial team at Netflix. She is a member of the Television Academy and ACES: The Society for Editing.
