    Led a comprehensive analysis project using MaineCare usage data to assess healthcare disparities between individuals whose first language is English and non-English speakers, with the aim of identifying and addressing potential inequities within the Maine DHHS- Extracted and processed data from extensive Excel spreadsheets using SQL, applying data cleaning and sorting techniques to isolate relevant information- Employed statistical tests, including permutation tests, to determine the significance of differences in diagnosis rates between language groups- Developed data visualizations, including box plots and lists of specific languages with the highest rate of difference, to effectively communicate findings- Utilized SQL, Python, Power BI, Pandas, and NumPy to conduct data analysis and generate actionable insights- Collaborated with a senior data analyst while working independently on the project- Presented findings that underscored healthcare disparities among non-English speakers, highlighting under-diagnosis concerns and potential language barriers affecting effective communication between patients and healthcare providers- Contributed to ongoing research initiatives by transitioning to a project focused on disparities in the usage of medical equipment in the Emergency Room (ER), building upon previous research findings.Achievements- Successfully identified language-based healthcare disparities, providing critical insights into under-diagnosis and potential language barriers in healthcare access- Demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and visualization tools, contributing to actionable recommendations for improving healthcare equity- Transitioned seamlessly to a new research project, leveraging prior findings to further address healthcare disparities in the ER setting.Technical Skills- Data Analysis and Statistical Testing- Data Cleaning and Sorting- Data Visualization (Power BI)- Python Programming (Pandas, NumPy)
