In my role as Corporate Data Protection Counsel of the Menarini Group (as the leading Italian pharmaceutical company operating in 140 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Central America and the US where with the acquisition of Stemline Therapeutics, a NASDAQ-listed biopharmaceutical company, the company marked its entry into the US oncology market), I\'m mainly responsible for assisting the global compliance team by helping clients managing their vendors in the respective pharmaceutical markets in Germany, Western and Eastern Europe and the CIS region by: • drafting data processing agreements, • assessing DP risks & suggesting mitigating solutions (DPIA & cross-border transfer impact assessments), • drafting privacy notices, • monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, raising awareness and training staff, • responding to data subjects requests, • collaborating in a multicultural environment with cross-functional teams, including representatives of management, Marketing International, Scientific Service, IT, HR, Information Security, • working along with various company’s functions on collecting, drafting and reviewing new set of business practice principles such as the Global Code of Business Practice in order to properly identify, manage, and prevent associated compliance risks when interacting with our stakeholders (e.g, HCPs, consumers, patients).
