About Nicholas Smith
As the General Manager of LoL Esports at the Golden State Warriors, I have overseen the strategic direction, performance, and growth of our League of Legends teams and operations. With over 9 years of experience in the esports industry, I have a proven track record of coaching and mentoring both players and staff, as well as using data-driven insights to optimize our strategies, tactics, and results. I joined GSW in 2018 as the Head Coach of Golden Guardians, where I was responsible for rebuilding our program and hiring the staff + players to fulfill a multi-year vision. Together we successfully brought our team to multiple playoff appearances and, in our most recent year, landed at the top of our league to qualify for two different international tournaments. Before that, I was the Head Coach at Echo Fox, where I helped rebuild and turn around our team after finishing 7th out of 10 teams in 2017. We qualified for international competition with a 3rd place standing and achieved the best finish in our organization\'s history. My mission is to elevate the standards of every team that I join and to create a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. I am passionate about the gaming industry and its potential to connect, inspire, and entertain millions of fans around the world, and always look forward to helping do my part to improve our community.
