ABOUT IMSHAAD NAAZ

Hi there! I\'m Imshaad, a 4th Year Biomedical & Electrical Engineering student at Carleton University. I am actively seeking new graduate opportunities as early as May 2026.My interests focus on innovative areas which aim to bridge the gap between healthcare and technology. I am always looking for ways to contribute to projects that involve cutting-edge technology to improve medical processes\' usability and accessibility. I have previously done a Co-op term at the National Research Council Canada (NRC). I worked with NRC\'s Digital Technologies Research Centre on some pretty neat projects involving machine learning, software development, and human-skeleton tracking using AI to overcome mobility issues in Canadian seniors. I have also worked as a Process Engineering Analyst at Canada Post, where I worked on rearranging depot layouts to improve sorting efficiency and often troubleshoot Canada Posts\' letter mail sorting machines.I have recently completed my 12-month Co-op at Siemens Healthineers, where my division focused on the manufacture of the epoc® Blood Analysis System; a handheld wireless android capable of analyzing blood gas components within a minute. I have gained experience in the regulatory aspects of medical devices as well as in the product engineering areas of the production of such devices.My work experience has helped me acquire skills in the field of electrical and software engineering, such as working with FPGA, Verilog, LTSpice and Multisim. I am also proficient in Object Oriented Programming (Java), C, MATLAB and Python. These acquired skills have been of great help to me during my roles as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Mathematics II, Intro to Python, and Foundations of Programming in C.I have continued to remain involved on campus by volunteering at different societies at Carleton such as the Systems & Computer Engineering Society, the Carleton Student Engineering Society and the Carleton University Biomedical Engineering Society. I was the the Fairtrade Director of Carleton\'s Engineering Without Borders Chapter last year, where I aimed to raise awareness amongst students towards fairtrade and ethical sourcing. Currently I work with the Tetra Society of North America, a Canadian foundation that helps design devices for people with disabilities, to improve accessibility.Outside of work, I enjoy painting, biking and experimenting with new drink recipes for fun!
