Tech lead of Amazon business pricing team - designing and implementing pricing solutions. Led the design and implementation of machine learning services, specializing in price elasticity-driven ML models, to facilitate the publishing of quantity discount prices for business customers generating multimillion-dollar revenue. Designed and developed a tier-1 distributed backend service from the ground up, serving as a facade for searching a product across lists. Engineered to handle tens of thousands of requests per second, key responsibilities included building the infrastructure, designing & implementing API contracts, integrating external services, conducting load testing, ensuring production readiness, and more. Led design, planning, and execution of peak preparation for four critical tier-1 distributed backend services. The most popular service supported 16+ businesses and 60+ clients across Amazon during prime day\'21 handling an impressive 400K requests per second. Development and productionalization of features, APIs, and infrastructure components for backend services. This involved building functionalities like price drop, text translation capabilities, and implementing asynchronous updates to the search cluster for real-time product updates. Designed and implemented cart and gifting in Amazon Wishlist integrating to a new cart service. Designed and implemented APIs to efficiently retrieve and process diverse product data (e.g, pricing, ratings, reviews, shipping etc.) used in rendering Amazon Wishlist. Provided operational excellence in multiple tier-1 distributed services (that handled 10k requests/sec and required availability) via (primary & secondary) oncall and OE work.
