ABOUT IMRAN QAZI

I am a senior engineer ENCC at National Grid ESO, the organization that operates the electricity transmission network across Great Britain. With over 14 years of experience in power system engineering, I have a master\'s degree in renewable energy engineering and a passion for finding sustainable and innovative solutions for the energy sector.In my current role, I prepare optimized system operating plans considering available energy and transmission resources, and I engage with other stakeholders for optimum system operation. I also monitor the GB energy market and ensure its compliance with the regulatory and contractual obligations. In my previous roles at DEWA, I gained valuable skills and knowledge in transmission analysis and monitoring, real-time network operation, unit commitment and economic dispatch, and contingency scenario planning. I also developed and delivered training programs for new joiners, operation engineers, and university graduates, and contributed to the development of operational quality procedures. I have worked in three different energy markets, and I am proficient in communication, client presentation, and data analysis. I am a good team player who believes in the power of listening, diversity, inclusion, change, continuous learning, and paradigm shift.
