ALPHA10X develops the decision intelligence platform that private markets investors and advisors trust to generate alpha and impact.As a Data Engineering Manager and Graph Squad Lead at Alpha10x, I hold a pivotal leadership role overseeing the development and management of data engineering initiatives. This role entails also leading a team of 6 individuals within the Graph Squad, dedicated to building the knowledge graph essential for our platform. Additionally, I am responsible for managing two functional teams: Data Engineers and Data/Business Data Analysts.Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Graph Squad team, ensuring the successful development and maintenance of the knowledge graph feeding into our platform- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Graph Squad, including task assignment and progress tracking- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand and communicate business objectives and requirements to the Graph Squad- Serve as a liaison between the Graph Squad and senior management, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and strategic initiatives.Manage the recruitment process for the Data Engineers and Data/Business Data Analysts, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions- Develop and implement project management processes and methodologies, ensuring efficient project execution and delivery- Act as a point of contact for project management office (PMO) activities, coordinating project schedules, resources, and budgets- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Graph Squad and across data engineering teams, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.

ABOUT IMANE SAMI
Over the last 4 years I’ve led teams and stayed hands-on, scaling automated ETL pipelines on ~50TB of raw data through 60+ microservices. I managed, defined strategy, and built the data roadmap for the entire company, while also owning recruiting and interviewing to grow a strong data team. One of my proudest achievements was managing the creation of the largest knowledge graph for the private markets, integrating 20+ sources across science, business, intellectual property, and finance, growing to 2B+ entities and 40B+ relationships. Partnering directly with the executive team, I ensured that data not only powered analytics but guided strategic decisions at the highest level.My toolbox includes Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows), Azure Data Services (ADF, ADLS, Functions, Purview), Python, SQL, PySpark, and increasingly modern data tools such as dbt, Snowflake, and others as I continuously expand my stack. I’ve established governance and lineage at workflow/table/column levels, and delivered KPIs and dashboards that executives trust for clarity and impact.
