As Global Category Manager for Cybersecurity, I lead the strategic procurement and supplier management of mission-critical cybersecurity technologies across a complex, global enterprise. My remit spans multi-million-dollar contracts with tier-1 technology providers, enabling robust cyber defences and digital resilience across the organisation.Key responsibilities include: • Category Ownership: Defining and executing the end-to-end global sourcing strategy for Cybersecurity (Network Security, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Security, IAM, Data Protection, GRC, etc.), aligned to evolving threat landscapes and regulatory requirements. • Supplier Strategy: Managing strategic relationships with top-tier vendors, driving commercial value, innovation, and service excellence through structured governance and performance frameworks. • Contract Negotiations: Leading high-value, complex contract negotiations (often exceeding $10M) to secure optimal terms, licensing structures, and risk-mitigation provisions for global deployments. • Stakeholder Engagement: Partnering with CISO, CIO, and technology leadership to translate security priorities into actionable commercial strategies, ensuring category plans align to both risk and business objectives. • Commercial Risk Management: Proactively identifying areas of over- or under-utilisation, renegotiating entitlements, and embedding controls to optimise software consumption and budget adherence. • Market Intelligence: Leveraging deep market insights and benchmarking data to inform supplier selection, pricing models, and emerging technology investments.This role is at the intersection of cybersecurity strategy, commercial leadership, and operational risk management, contributing to the organisation’s resilience, compliance, and cost optimisation on a global scale.
