ABOUT ILKA BEIMEL
Dr. Ilka H. Beimel specialises in national and international dispute resolution before arbitral tribunals and state courts. Ilka advises and represents clients on complex cross-border disputes, especially corporate, liability and commercial disputes. She has particular experience in handling disputes involving international sales law. Ilka works as party representative, arbitrator and tribunal secretary. In these roles she gained experience in arbitration proceedings governed by DIS, CAM-CCBC, ICC, LCIA and VIAC Rules, as well as ad hoc proceedings. Ilka is a member of various arbitration associations and a laureate of the DIS Sponsorship Award 2021/2022. She served as a rapporteur to the CISG Advisory Council and taught international sales and arbitration law at a Japanese university. She is involved in various other initiatives and is a co-founder of the regional dispute resolution initiative Rheinische Runde zur Streitbeilegung. Ilka regularly publishes and speaks on topical issues relating to arbitration and international sales law.
