ABOUT ILIA RASSKAZOV
I am a senior scientist with over 12 years of experience specializing in the research and application of light-matter interactions. My expertise spans pure electromagnetic theory and practical engineering across critical domains, including chip manufacturing, photovoltaics, biomedical research, and photonics. I provide sophisticated technical insight where light physics drives technological advancement and product innovation.I am the creator of multilayer.app — a free, browser-based thin-film optics calculator built on the transfer matrix method. It runs entirely in the browser, requires no installation or license, and is designed to be a dependable everyday tool for researchers, engineers, and students working on optical coatings, anti-reflection stacks, Bragg mirrors, photovoltaic absorbers, and color-shifting films.Beyond software, I have had the privilege of co-advising PhD students at KTH (Sweden), UIUC (USA), and Colorado School of Mines (USA), and contributing to open scientific knowledge across optics, photonics, and photovoltaics. My other passion is the development of Decentralized Science (DeSci), utilizing blockchain technology to accelerate the pace and accessibility of research. Within this initiative, I am specifically pushing research in optics and photonics toward a transparent, verifiable, and equitable scientific infrastructure — one that values open tools and shared knowledge over closed metrics.I welcome professional outreach from anyone curious about my specific skills, research history, or the DeSci initiative, and who believes I could be a valuable point of contact or collaborator. Based in the Bay Area, I am particularly amenable to in-person meeting for a coffee and a productive discussion; let\'s see where the conversation leads us!
