The Supervisory Rehabilitation Counselor works in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) work with persons who experience functional impairments and disabilities associated with mental health, physical, and/or psychosocial challenges affecting employment, independent living, or personal adjustment. Assist with organization, implementation, and evaluation of employment and vocational rehabilitation services in the facility. Develop realistic performance standards, improvement performance standards and quality assurance efforts. Estimate budgetary needs and make justified requests or proposals. Establish standard operating procedures. Compile statistical reports and data for local, regional and national reports. Assist Patients with self-advocacy, goal development and planning towards employment, education, or independent living goals. Research benefits, services and entitlements that are being used and/or may be able to use. Provide functional and vocational assessments and evaluations. Individual Counseling Vocational and Career Counseling Group Counseling Orientations and outreach activities Case Notes Follow local, state, and federal guidelines Case ManagementACHIEVEMENTS:(i) Graduate Internship Agreement and Supervision with the University of Puerto Rico. Hosted first Graduate Rehabilitation Counseling student during Spring 2024.(ii) Reopen the offering of vocational rehabilitation services at the Grand Junction VA Hospital.
