ABOUT ILIA ERMOLAEV

I have been working in feature films VFX industry since 2018. Experienced in all kinds of compositing tasks from roto/cleanup/set extension and keying to complex VFX integration and full-CG shots. Always focused on sustainable growth, I try to learn something new within my specialization as well as other related pipeline parts. I also took lookdev/shading (Houdini) courses for better understanding of multipass compositing and to have an ability to speak the same language with 3D departments artists.My favourite tasks are the most difficult challenges. Facing a big scope of it in my everyday work in a powerful skill growth making me capable to achieve 2 main composting goals: technical excellence and artistic integrity of a shot.Working as a compositing supervisor I ensured the ground truth that was always applicable to every stage and type of my work: strong interpersonal communication and teamwork engagement is the key to success. Here is an approximate list of my responsibilities as a comp supervisor: technical and artistic control, master-shot/look development, mentoring of junior artists, finding solutions together with 3-d departments supervisors, building up relationships between different compositing teams and delivering the final results together with our producers directly to the client, fulfilling all directors requirements.
