About Ildiko Tabori

Ildiko Tabori, Ph.D. has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from CSPP in 2003 and has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist 2004. She trained at the St. Jude Medical Center’s Regional Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Program and has been an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Pepperdine University. In addition to Psychotherapy, her specialties include Neuropsychology, Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing, Geriatrics, and Forensic Psychology as an expert witness in both criminal and civil cases. Dr. Tabori has also been the Consulting Sport Neuropsychologist for Peace and Sport. In private practice, Dr. Tabori combines a unique and specialized form of CBT based on Dr. William Glasser’s Choice Theory with a Family Systems approach to treatment. Dr. Tabori views maladaptive behavioral patterns as a result of inadequate or dysfunctional life choices. She assists her clients in recognizing these patterns of behavior and encourages them to draw realistic and practical solutions to the things that are hindering growth and happiness through the choices they make in life. Instead of spending countless sessions uncovering a person\'s past, Dr. Tabori utilizes the most salient historical events of a person\'s life experiences and applies them to a \"here and now\" problem-solving technique. Dr. Tabori applies a complete behavioral medicine treatment plan focusing on four main areas: psychotherapy, exercise, nutrition, and social support networks. Dr. Tabori has been the Psychologist-In-Residence at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood since 2011. Here, she works with comedians and other actors and writers to improve their emotional health and streamline their creative processes. Dr. Tabori is also a media consultant and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, HBO, A&E, HLN, NPR, BBC, ITV, Comedy Central, and Everyday Health among many others.
