ABOUT IGOR FONTANA DE NARDIN

I am passionate about software development. I try to stay updated, sometimes trying new things by myself (for example, I learned Electron for a personal project and PHP to help a friend). My formation focused on scheduling in the cloud and/or data centers. This allowed me to try different languages (Java, C#, and C++), frameworks/tools (.NET, Prometheus.io, docker, and docker swarm), and algorithms (Heuristics and Reinforcement learning). In my PhD, I worked on the French ANR project named Datazero2. This project aims to define an architecture of a renewable-only data center. My work in this project is to create the scheduling algorithms to place the jobs in the servers, dealing with renewable production fluctuations (e.g, more/less sun irradiation, more/less wind). On the industry side, I worked for almost 12 years in a reference company in ERP in the South of Brazil. The principal development language was Microfocus Cobol. I also created some side applications in Java and Ruby, aiming to help the developers in their daily work. I was the team leader for about 8 years in payroll software development. I can highlight two projects: eSocial and Human Resources web integration. In the eSocial project, we create a SOAP integration between our ERP and a government web service. In the Human Resources web integration, we developed a website using Angular and Spring boot (I worked as a full-stack in this project). This website integrated jobs from the ERP and received applications from external users. More generally, I participated in every step of the software development, from requirements gathering with the clients to the implementation delivery, including software design, development, and testing. I helped with some improvements in testing our software (e.g, introducing Testathon and automated tests) and the scrum implementation. I was in the very first group of the scrum masters of the enterprise.Following my PhD, I am looking for new challenges.
