About Igor Mikaelian
I am a pathologist, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists for 20+ years, who has a passion for pathology at the service of drug development, from animal models to clinical/translational. I see myself and am accepted as a leader and team player, bringing to the table innovative ideas which I support by a solid experience, thorough and critical literature reviews, and in-depth knowledge of molecular pathology tools. I have led research and safety efforts to select lead molecules in a range of therapeutic areas: oncology, immuno-oncology, inflammation, NASH, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, etc. These approaches relied on close collaborations with CROs and internal in vivo and research teams. This work was central to support multiple regulatory submissions (BBs, IBs, INDs and NDAs). At the center of my engagement is the belief that my work matters and will contribute to improve the life of other fellow humans. This belief was rewarded with Zelboraf becoming frontline therapy for BRAF-V600E mutated melanomas.
