ABOUT IGNAZIO PASSERO

I am excited by changes: during my career, I got involved in different activities, accordingly changing my life, time by time.Young boy, I was playing with Basic Programming on ZX Spectrum and MSX Spectravideo 1. Later, I was working as a fotoreporter for an important Newspaper in Naples, but the digital transformation of photography was quickly bringing me back to the Computer Science world. After a degree and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, I got involved in scientific research activities at the University of Salerno and I’m supporting several Companies as a consultant. All my activities are united by a deep interest for novelty and a general “problem solving” attitude. Among my interests, e-learning tools and technologies (with a particular interest for 3D Virtual Worlds), mobile platforms and gestural interfaces are the milestones that drive my continue exploration of the technology world. I coordinate several student groups in the developing of open source tools and learning platform plug-ins. As a contact point with my activities in the photographic sector, I’m also particularly interested in digital image processing, video editing and compression. Recently, I was formalizing, via Owl ontologies, a user profiling system capable of customizing mobile interfaces and provided information.Recently I am newly in the press world and I’m serving as a specialized journalist in the sector of Computers and Technology.
