Hi, my name is Ignacio. I am a Chilean lawyer currently based in London, UK.I began my professional career while I still was an undergraduate student. As a legal researcher at Thomson Reuters, I worked on diverse projects related to civil, commercial, employment, constitutional and criminal law, developing a refined research skill set in core legal areas.Once admitted into the Chilean bar, I joined Mena & Guijón as an associate lawyer. At this general practice law firm, I provided legal advice on litigation and immigration matters to natural persons and companies, gaining valuable working experience.After spending one year there, I returned to the University of Chile, not only my alma mater but the leading higher education institution in the country and one of the most prestigious in Latin America. As an in-house legal counsel, I dealt with commercial contracts, corporate and procurement matters, regulatory compliance and risk management. I served in this role for four and a half years until I moved to the UK.Already based in London, I got an LLM degree from King’s College London. In this programme, I gained in-depth knowledge of information privacy and data protection (including the GDPR); new technologies, digital age and consumer law; corporate law and corporate governance; enterprise law, and climate change. I also developed my understanding of leadership and entrepreneurship by attending practical seminars and activities.Following my LLM graduation, I joined Chambers & Partners, the ranking that matters the most. As a researcher, I developed an in-depth understanding of legal markets and the latest legal and business trends around the globe.After almost two years, I left Chambers and joined the international fintech group ONE.io as a legal counsel.
