Devise and oversee delivery of strategies to meet our goals in a specific area, currently discovery research, including rigorous programmes of policy to create pragmatic policy solutions to Wellcome’s goals; and develop the evidence, compelling arguments and best-in-class policy products to deliver on these.• Work with the Heads of Policy to identify resource needs for these programmes, including budget and staffing. • Lead, manage, motivate policy professionals to deliver these programmes, overseeing the quality of work and developing and supporting the performance of team members to build on their potential. Contribute personally to delivery as a senior member of the team.• Represent Wellcome externally on issues where the postholder has lead responsibility, including giving speeches, participating in panel discussions, giving media interviews as required. • Manage, develop and motivate Policy Officers or colleagues on Graduate or Internship Programmes from time-to-time. • Contribute to the creation and development of a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
