ABOUT IFTI MANIAR BARCH MRTPI
Ifti is an imaginative, committed and business oriented planner. His early interest in design and the built environment lead him to complete a degree in Achitecture, after which he practiced as a conservation architect in India for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Ifti moved to the UK to complete a masters degree in Urban Planning in Developing Countries at Oxford Brookes University.Ifti studied for a further masters level qualification in Planning and Sustainability at Kingston University. Upon completion he worked for Cunnane Town Planning LLP (London) as a Town Planner. During his 9 years with this practice, he progressed to a senior position, responsible for managing a team internally as well as coordinating teams of external consultants. In 2014, Ifti joined West Waddy ADP (Abingdon) as a Senior Town Planner.His dual interest in architecture and planning means he has a very good eye for detail and a genuine interest in sustainable design. Ifti has a broad experience of the UK planning system having been involved in the preparation of planning applications and appeals for urban extensions, site appraisals, area actions plans, development briefs and masterplans. Ifti took the project management role for the major planning applications (including 1500 homes) and appeals within Oxfordshire. He has also significant experience dealing with Green Belts sites and promoting large scale residential and mixed use developments through Local Plans.
