About Igor Dolgov
As a Human Factors engineer and research leader, I’ve spent over 20 years at the intersection of psychology and safety-critical engineering. My focus is simple but high-stakes: designing and certifying the hardware and software that make autonomous and crewed flight safer and more intuitive.Currently, at Reliable Robotics, I am leading the Human Factors effort to certify the world’s first gate-to-gate autoflight system for commercial use. This project is the latest in a career defined by pioneering \'firsts\': I previously established the flight deck philosophy for Joby Aviation’s S-4 eVTOL and helped launch Uber Copter in NYC. These industry milestones are grounded in my earlier work as a Tenured Associate Professor at NMSU, where I managed $5.7M in FAA and NASA research focused on the fundamental trust and safety of autonomous systems.I’m a Princeton CS alum and ASU Ph.D. with a passion for building safe and reliable autoflight systems that will define the next generation of aviation.Core Expertise: FAA Certification (Part 23/25/135), Human-Machine Interaction, Human-Autonomy Teaming, eVTOL/UAS Interface Design, UXR, and Research Leadership.
