ABOUT IDARA AILEEN HANSEN
I am an educator, dean, and curriculum leader who believes that when students feel seen, supported, and challenged, they become better thinkers, writers, and human beings. My foundation in independent school education runs deep — as a student at The Taft School and Wesleyan University, and now as a professional who has spent my career giving back to the communities that shaped me. I hold a Master\'s in Teaching from the University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated with honors and researched the impact of meaningful student-teacher relationships on growth in the English classroom. Across tenures at The Taft School, Dwight-Englewood, and Greenwich Country Day School, I have taught literature, rhetoric, and composition, designed rigorous curricula, and built classroom cultures where every student is challenged and every voice is valued.
