Responsible for developing and managing a program offering low income, underemployed and unemployed adults employment assistance in order to help them achieve economic independence. Provide job readiness and placement services for clients. Major Responsibilities- Network & establish community & business contacts who will be potential employers- Set the strategic direction and ensure implementation of the program- Establish program goals and track outcomes- Establish a workforce development advisory council- Work with clients to assess their skills, provide counseling, and assist with job assessments and placement- Create tools necessary for assessing, monitoring and tracking progress of program participants- Assist in finding ways to minimize barriers clients face reaching their employment goals- Manage an employment specialist who works with clients to screen, assess, develop an employment plan, help client to explore job leads, match client to potential opportunities and secure employment- Work with Grant Writer to secure additional funding- Make presentations to community groups to advocate and raise awareness about the program.
