About Ibtihaj Ahmad
I am an aspiring Water Resources Engineer currently pursuing my MS degree in Water Resources Concentration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My passion lies in utilizing remote sensing to unravel the complexities of water engineering and address critical scientific questions. At present, I am actively involved in NSF-funded project, where I employ remote sensing and machine learning tools to gain insights into prefire conditions, post-fire burn severity, and their ecological impacts, such as sedimentation erosion and stream flow. Furthermore, I have worked on national-scale project in Pakistan, focusing on mitigating the issue of urban flooding in the bustling metropolis of Karachi. I conducted field surveys through drone and GNSS, utilized GIS and hydro models for stromwater drains design. Looking to connect with individuals passionate for water engineering and its intersection with remote sensing.
