Water treatment & Chemical systemsTopic: Responsible for the design of water treatment and chemical injection systems for the Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C and Rolls-Royce SMR nuclear power plant project. Context: 1) Secondment at EPR Engineering - EDF Group for the Conventional Island and Balance Of Plant team. 2) Secondment at Rolls-Royce SMR for the Balance Of Plant team Tasks- Collaboration with other disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, I&C and Commissioning teams)- P & IDs modification on Aveva Engineering - Hydraulics sizing calculations on Flowmaster - Knowledge of Process and Mechanical Engineering equipment - Project management Key deliverables and activities- Calculating Sodium Hypochlorite dosing rate to prevent biofouling in the Cooling Water System - Writing of the Degassing System Technical Specification deliverable for Sizewell C Power Plant - Mentoring of Junior Process Engineer to support their work and to integrate them in the team - Performing technical review of pressure calculation sheets and P & ID for wastewater systems - Leading Design Risk studies for water distribution Systems - Assessing Operational Experience from Flamanville 3 Power Plant - Performing the System Maturity Review and leading the Post-Job debriefing of my team - Updating the Instrumentation and Control documentation (Human Machine Interface, Logic Diagram, Automation)- Water treatment Process: Reverse Osmosis, Ion Exchange Resin, Oil Separator, Electrochlorination - Equipment specification: pipes, valves, pumps, tanks.
