ABOUT IASON KOUFODONTIS

Faculty member, University of the Aegean, Department of Tourism Economics and Management. Adjunct Faculty member at the Hellenic Open University, Tourism Management. Member of the Innovative Tourism Entrepreneurship and Human Resources Development Lab, University of the Aegean. 18 years of autonomous academic lecturing at University postgraduate and graduate courses (since 2007) and 31 years of experience in vocational training (certified instructor, Hellenic National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government, Hellenic Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance). 31 years of research experience as researcher in over 30 European programmes (since 1994). Publication of research in over 30 international scientific conferences (peer reviewed) and a small number of high impact international scientific journals. European research programme evaluator and auditor. Specialized in entrepreneurship, e-business and information communication technology utilization in management, with focus on tourist enterprises and destinations. Other research interests include organizational and technological innovations in tourism, small and family tourism enterprise strategy, internet and social media in tourism, air transport and tourism, destination e-image and branding, regional development. Work experience in private sector as partner and co-owner of Internet Service Providers. Extensive technical skills and knowledge in programming, application development, information management, data mining, internet technologies etc.
