ABOUT IAN SAYLE

Experienced IT leader who has successfully navigated and delivered complex solutions across various sectors, including HE, Housing, Retail, Hospitality, Central Government, Local Authorities, Entertainment, I enjoy the challenge of learning and contributing to organisations that have something they want to say and do. With a proven grasp of strategic situations, I enjoy managing and mentoring a team to be a strong, diverse talent pool delivering day-2-day operational as well as driving change & transformation through project delivery & service transition. I am looking at IT strategies, technology roadmaps, and business intelligence, using agile and best practice methodologies. I help reduce costs, by consolidation, removing waste, implementing change, listening to the business and delivering on their requirements. I mitigate operational, IT, project risks through good old fashioned honest assessment and action. As an example, I take underperforming teams, short on confidence, teams beaten and I bring them back, and give them belief. How do I do it, I have 2 ears, one mouth and I use them in that proportion, I have their back, I plan for them to be successful, and I bring back the fun factors. To achieve this I do 2 things. First I plan, strategically plan 3 years+, roadmaps give the year on year detail. Then secondly, I have the logistical minerals to make it happen. Its all about conficence, trust, belief. In my 30 years in IT I have saved millions on the bottom line, I have added revenue to the bottom line, and I have advised and delivered to reduce operational risk. Easy for me to say here is the evidence. Lapland UK, 2021, rescued a difficult situation where 160k event tickets had to be sold to save the event. Produced Revenue in excess of £15m (ticket sales), £10m in event retail sales. Alexon International, implemented The overall impact of the IT work at Alexon International contributed to the survival of the ladies fashion business, by a VC buyout which saved thousands of jobsUniversity of Exeter, mitigating risk by signing the contract to implement the Student Record system to Cloud (as well as other academic and corporate applications migrating to cloud)Mintec Limited, I lead the team that designed and built the prototye for the Cost Analytics Web tool, developed to assist retailers to too better price ready made meals. Generated revenues in excess of £2mHaving read my profile and you’d like to meet: E-Mail: I•••••••@btinternet.com. Mobile: 07•••••••06
