ABOUT IAN QUINN

Golf Operations Manager at Surrey Golf Club, Surrey, B.C. Arrived in Canada from Ireland in April 2022 and entered into a thriving golf industry. Made a very difficult decision to leave Special Olympics Ireland. I was thoroughly enjoying the incredibly rewarding role of RDO Sport within SOI but the time was right for my partner and I to pursue a change of scenery in BC. Previously worked with Meath GAA/Leinster GAA for 2 years as a Games Promotion Officer. I had a fantastic role that was split between working with clubs and schools and also with the county’s underage talent squads. MSc in Sports Management in UCD. Key modules include the management of high performance sport, sports governance and operations. My academic journey started with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science (1.1) in the UL. During my undergrad, I undertook an internship with Oxford United Football Club. This role will allowed me to gain invaluable experience in areas of Sports Science such as S&C and the use of GPS systems. My work involved both the first team and youth teams. I also previously worked voluntarily in a strength and conditioning coach role with the Munster Rugby underage system.
